What Is Soft Washing?

Soft washing is something you will only find with the best power/pressure washing companies in our industry. Yes, we still use our pressure washer, however this special method allows us to eliminate any potential damage that pressure washing and high pressure may cause by using lower pressure and high volume with our commercial grade machine. This allows us to provide our clients with amazing exterior cleaning results. Soft washing method is a combination of cold or hot water along with specialized environmentally friendly and bio-degradable detergents. This method is absolutely safe and effective in cleaning any delicate surface such as vinyl siding, stucco, brick, wood, aluminum or stone.

Do You Offer Window Cleaning And How Do You Avoid Spots And Streaks?

Yes, we offer commercial and residential window cleaning. We use a state-of-the-art water fed pole and brush which we can access from the ground so no ladders are needed and a very special 3 stage filtration system. Calgary is home to some of the hardest water in the country, it has a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) anywhere between 195-300 PPM (Parts Per Million). If you were to use a garden hose to clean your windows it would leave spots and residue. After we filter the water and remove all minerals we are able to achieve a TDS of 0.00 PPM which is considered “Pure Water”. Once your windows and tracks are scrubbed, washed and rinsed with Pure Water, you will immediately notice that your windows will be streak and spot free.

What Is The Difference Between Pressure Washing And Power Washing?

We get that question asked all of the time. Sometimes people confuse both terms but we are here to help educate you about the differences. The basic function of the two terms are the same, which is that they both use high pressure water to remove dirt and other contaminants from hard surfaces.
Power washing is the process of removing surface material such as dirt, grime, mildew, mold, mud, oil and other contaminants from interior and exterior hard surfaces. Power washing uses water that is heated through a coil/heating element. When water that has been heated to a certain temperature (170 degrees Fahrenheit or 76 degrees Celsius) it will break down contaminated materials/stains from your property much easier than cold water. This is different from pressure washing which uses normal temperature water. For more stubborn stains we can introduce environmentally friendly and bio-degradable detergents, along with hot water it delivers an effective method of removing most stains or contaminated material. The rule of thumb is simple: whatever cold water cleans, hot water will clean better and faster. Since power washing is done with such force, it is highly recommended that it does NOT get used on delicate surfaces such as vinyl siding, stucco, and delicate composite materials.
Pressure washing is done with the same pressure as power washing but only with normal temperature water. With the right techniques, it will still be effective in removing dirt, mud, and other lighter contaminants. In some certain scenarios combining pressure washing and environmentally friendly detergents we will be able to remove dirt, mud and lighter contaminants. As mentioned before, both offer very high pressure of water and is only allowed to be done on hard surfaces. You could risk damage to your property’s siding/stucco/painted surfaces if using high pressure. Please refer to the above “Soft Washing” question which is better suited for more delicate surfaces.

Can I Power/Pressure Wash Myself?

We definitely do live in a do it yourself world where home and business owners take on many projects with great success. When it comes to the care and maintenance of your home or business which is most likely one of your most expensive possessions most people only trust themselves. There are certain jobs that are best left to the pros and power/pressure washing is one of them. Yes, you can purchase a machine from your local store, these consumer grade machines pale in comparison in power and functionality to their commercial counter parts. These units are generally cold water units that do not have hot water capabilities nor the volume capacity to get the job done effectively and efficiently.
There are also numerous questions to ask yourself before considering to take this project on yourself:

  • Do you have the right tools and detergents to get the job done right?

  • Do you have the proper training to wash delicate surfaces?

  • Do you have the time to do it?

  • Are you prepared for the worst if the project goes wrong?

  • Are you prepared to deal with the frustration?

  • Are you aware of safety precautions?

  • Will you be able to live with irreversible damage to delicate surfaces in your home or business?
